I am in possession of the rare old-personal-collection of books by my uncle.
The books were as old as published between 1959 - 1987.
My uncle was a professor in the Roorkee University in India.
He had a peculiar taste for books and he had a wide collection of books.
He liked mystery and thrillers by the great writers of their time like, Agath Christie
and Erle Stanley Gardner. He also liked the writings of the great Russian writers Leo Tolstoy
and Fyodor Dostoevsky and he also had a few books of these great writers printed nearly 50 Years back.
He had a total collection of nearly two thousand books. He was a bachelor and had no children.
He spent his last fey years with us. Since, I was also interested in books as I am a graduate in
English literature, I have also read my of his books. I am not sure but I have felt that while reading
those books I go into that age and feel the genuineness of the writings of those great writers.
Before his death, my uncle gave me selected 70 books from his collection series of Erle Stanley Gardner,
Agatha Christie, and a few books by Leo Tolstoy and Fyodor Dostoevsky. And he asked me to maintain
those books as the collection. After his death nearly five years later I want to sell those books as it is
difficult for me to maintain those books. 3-4 books are in worn-out condition.
I want to sell these books as a whole collection and not in the loose.
I have fixed the price for the whole collection of 70-books at 3, 50, 000 British Pound (Three Lac Fifty Thousand
British Pound).
These are the rare collection of books and hardly available in the libraries across the world.
